Made by nicole generates £470 for charity urban synergy

We are pleased to share that Made By Nicole generated £470 for Urban Synergy, a charity based in South London that is dedicated to helping underrepresented youth from diverse ethnic backgrounds achieve their career aspirations in the City of London (UK).

Based at the Guildhall in the City of London and hosted by Eddie Nestor MBE, Purple Perfection was successfully auctioned at Urban Synergy’s Celebration Event on 15th December 2023. The purpose of this event was to highlight the success of the charity by awarding its key stakeholders, from alumni who had joined the charity’s mentoring programme over 15 years ago and are now prospering in the city, to key mentors and sponsors of the charity who facilitated this. In this spirit, Urban Synergy hosted an auction in order to raise funds to continue its amazing work in 2024 and beyond…

Artist Nicole Thornton at the Celebration Event

In an effort to get Made By Nicole behind such a positive and impactful cause, artist Nicole Thornton kindly donated her original art piece Purple Perfection to the charity that was auctioned for a grand total of £470.

Purple Perfection is one of Nicole’s artworks from her Silhouette series completed in 2020, a piece that was first displayed when Made By Nicole first launched in 2021.

Purple Perfection is a vibrant abstract piece depicting a woman embracing her reflection, a stunning representation of self-love, self-acceptance and inner beauty. This is emphasised by the striking purple background that captures ones attention and forces one to reflect inwards. This piece symbolises pride, independence and ambition, key traits of a woman who is confident within herself. The original piece was completed using a range of purple white and black acrylic paint on two separate pieces of white card sized 42 x 29.7cm each.
